The building is a bond-funded replacement project for an aging inadequate facility. The new 3-story Art Building is a dynamic attractor for visually oriented students. The three levels are organized to house 3-dimensional art on the ground level, digital arts on the second level and traditional 2-dimensional art on the third level. The building is shaped around a central gathering space that will house a small amphitheater and a sculpture garden to encourage students on campus to experience Citrus’ visual arts programs. Large graphic display areas are located on the building to announce campus happenings and promote student work. Smaller art work will be displayed in a formal art gallery.
