Designed to serve the rural and remote communities within Sutter County, the Yuba College Sutter County Education Outreach Center is the first public higher education college in the County. Planned as a two building campus, the Center offers general education and basic skills courses as well as employment training for opportunities such as paraprofessional counselors, workers and aides in the areas of welfare, vocational rehabilitation, mental health and chemical dependency and educational courses for elementary school teachers.

The first building of the complex houses a microcosm of a college including “one stop shop” student services, a learning resource center, food services, bookstore, large and small lecture spaces, faculty offices and unassigned student study spaces to encourage group interaction and support varying student learning styles.

The building is highly visible from adjacent highway 99 answering the goal of promoting education in the region. The building is a signature modern building designed to create a future-forward branding for the District. Uniquely, the building used tilt-up construction methods to provide an extremely cost effective solution that minimizes maintenance efforts and energy usage in order to attain a sustainable long-term solution for the District.
