September 26, 2014 – Mt. San Antonio College celebrated the grand opening of the Child Development Complex with a ribbon cutting ceremony, reception and guided tour and of the new innovative teaching, learning and childcare facility. The Child Development Center provides early education, hands-on training as well as childcare programs for up to 162 children in a nurturing and stimulating environment.
The 33,800 square facility was designed as a multi-building village which sits along the hillside site in order to provide the residential scale and engaging environment that the College was seeking. The four buildings house the Child-care Administration and Food Service, Instructional and Program Administration, and classrooms and support facilities for Infants, Toddlers and Pre‐Schoolers. The individual play yards and covered patios are provided for each group of students and use materials indigenous to the area highlighted with water, plant, and rock features.
