To accommodate a popular and overburdened program, Cosumnes River College modernized and expanded their Automotive Technology building. This project will increase the size of the program by 50% and transformed the 1970s building into a sustainable, energy efficient, vision for technology education. The modernized space that will incorporate technology to support learners as well as a library/study cohort space that will center the technology learning community. The new space is flexible enough to support the transition from fossil-based fuel engines (diesel and gasoline) to automotive green technologies. A few of the goals in creating this project was to create a space that models the workplace, create partnerships with the auto business and industry which created an additional benefits for the students interested in joining the automobile college.
