The Measure E funded projects at Canyon View Elementary School will enhance the campus and spur student creativity. The renovated and new spaces carry the theme of versatility—partition walls can either keep rooms contiguous or be opened to create a shared, collaborative space.
Expansion of the music classroom will create a Music Lab with increased instrument storage space. A vertically folding partition wall will aid in acoustics and sound attenuation while separating the Music Ensemble and Choral classrooms as needed. The Library/Media Center will be augmented with a new Innovation Lab, Design Lab, conference room and a small collaborative group space to create student learning synergies. Instructors will have the option to open or close the large glass walls of the library’s Innovation Lab where students will experience computer-based programs, online learning and virtual instruction. Students will also have access to a green screen room to support their content creation needs. The Lab will serve as an incubator for teachers to learn to use new and updated technology to apply in their pedagogical practice.
