CONTRA COSTA COLLEGE New College Center

The New College Center at Contra Costa College revives the central core and heart of the aging campus. The three new buildings that make up the college center include the Administration/Student Center Building, Fireside Hall, and a 3-level General Education Building. The buildings are arranged to create unique outdoor spaces: an outdoor eating area, an amphitheater, and a park-like quad area for social activities.

The Administration/Student Activities Building brings together the existing Administrative Programs, Middle College and the Student Activity Programs of Student Life, Culinary Arts, Food Services, and the Bookstore. A lodge-like atmosphere was created in Fireside Hall which is a flexible meeting room for campus and community use. Finally, the General Education Building provides classrooms, faculty offices, a 200-seat lecture hall and views of the upper San Francisco Bay for students to gaze out towards while they congregate between classes.
