This new Student Health Services building supports El Camino College’ students by providing comprehensive outpatient clinical and mental health care in a new facility that was, from conception to occupancy, completed in a blistering 8-month timeframe. In order to fund this project, the District looked to capture Higher Education Emergency Relief Funding (HEERF) grants which dictated that the construction be complete by June 2023. The solution to the challenge was for the College/Architect team to work with a modular manufacturer to plan, document and construct the 3,840 sf project with modular construction that will be built in a factory and delivered and erected on-site. This purpose-built facility creates a culture of wellness that promotes and supports healthy lifestyle practices across the El Camino College community.
