Built to last, Glendale High School’s new Aquatic Center features a pool constructed with
Myrtha® Technology consisting of stainless-steel modular panels that are hot sealed with PVC for waterproofing and durability. The 38-meter x 25-yard pool has a shallow end to accommodate students learning to swim and accessible entrance, a rim-flow style continuous gutter, and a pool cover with reels. Students and athletes will be relieved to no longer have to attend practices off-campus and be able to compete in their very own pool. The project site also includes two buildings which house locker rooms, storage, a concession stand, and restrooms.
Prior to tBP/Architecture’s contracting with the District, the project had faced several unfortunate shortcomings resulting in delays. tBP performed extensive double-checks on codes and requirements as well as incorporated additional design changes to stay within budget after picking up where a previous design firm left off.
