WORKMAN HIGH SCHOOL Athletic Complex

During the first phase of Workman High School’s athletic complex improvements, the existing grass field was transformed into a practice field for football and soccer and encircled by a rubberized 8-lane, 400M track. The new track, along with a pole vault, two long/triple jumps, high jump, and two shock put areas completes the array of track and field features that allowed Workman High School to recently debut their Track CoEd team. Also included in the first phase of improvements were upgrades to the varsity softball field.

The second phase of the project expands the complex and upgrades several existing facilities. For tennis, four existing courts will be refinished and two new courts will be added. Varsity baseball players will enjoy their new batting cages and upgraded field. A new stadium with a synthetic turf playing field for football and soccer will be constructed and outfitted with field lighting, emergency egress lighting, bleacher seating for 1000 spectators, public address system, shaded snack bar area, ticket booth, announcer’s booth/press box, security fencing, and scoreboard. Restrooms within the existing locker room buildings will be upgraded to accommodate the home team, while a portable restroom building will be constructed for visitors. Completing the athletic complex is the incorporation of accessibility compliant designs for sidewalks, ramps, gates, and fences.
