Orange Coast College celebrated the groundbreaking for the new Language Arts and Social Behavioral Sciences Building. The 3-story structure houses instruction in modern, flexible spaces. 46 smart classrooms and 9 interdisciplinary computer labs, Journalism newsroom, indoor/outdoor Anthropology Lab, comfortable ‘sticky spaces’ along hallways and lobbies, quiet courtyards and active plazas bring light and views into the building. Additional programs of study that will be housed in the building include English, psychology, communications, world languages, journalism, English as a Second Language (ESL), and economics.

It’s a new, state-of-the-art facility. It really allows for students to engage in learning and have spaces where they can create a community.
– Angelica Suarez, President, Orange Coast College

Paired with the Sciences Building, it forms a major hub for interdisciplinary learning in the heart of the campus activity, close to student support services. It is scheduled to be completed September 2021.
