Where Learning Meets the Wilderness!
tBP/Architecture has designed a fire resilient space to replace facilities that tragically burned down in 2020. Located near the Santa Ana Mountains, the Rancho Sonado – Inside the Outdoors education center is a 19,885 SF space administered by the Orange County Department of Education. The education center is intended to empower Pre-K-12 students and the community to explore the natural setting and expand their knowledge, understanding and stewardship of the environment. For many intercity students, this will be their first introduction to untouched wilderness that lies magically within 30 minutes of their homes.
