We are thrilled to share that the Rancho Soñado – Inside the Outdoors Education Center project received the Award of Honor in the Project in Design Category at the CASH 47th Annual Conference!
The “Phoenix” project rises from the ashes of two destructive forest fires to give every Orange County student (Pre-K-12) meaningful access to outdoor learning experiences. The top design priority was fire protection – preparing for the next potential fire. Our design implements triple-glazed windows and insulated interior walls to resist heat. Horizontal banding on the walls and rust-colored roofs echo the site’s stratified earth and local historic mine structures, blending safety with context-sensitive design.
